Frequently asked questions
Is CollegeSeats legit?
Yes. CollegeSeats is a marketplace built exclusively for college sports. Payments run through Stripe, your card is charged only when the seller confirms, and we hold the seller’s payment until 3 business days after the game. If something goes wrong, you’re covered by our buyer protection.
When will I receive my tickets?
Every listing shows when its tickets will be sent, and checkout shows it again before you pay. Listings marked In hand now are sent the same day, by 9pm ET. Others are sent by the date on the listing, often a day or two before the game, which is normal for college tickets. We email you the moment they’re sent.
How does buyer protection work?
You’re covered. If something’s wrong (wrong seats, wrong game, tickets that don’t work, or tickets that never came), report it from My tickets as soon as you notice, and no later than the end of the game. The seller isn’t paid until 3 business days after the game, and your report pauses that payout while we review. If we confirm the problem, you get a full refund, fees and tax included.
What types of tickets can I buy?
Game tickets and parking passes for college football, listed by fans, season-ticket holders and ticket resellers. Every listing shows where you’ll sit and how the tickets will be delivered before you buy.
What are the fees?
Every price you see already includes our fees, so the listing price is what you pay before tax. Checkout breaks it out: the ticket price, our service fee (8% of the ticket price) and a card processing fee. Sales tax is added at checkout where it applies.
How do I sell my tickets?
Pick the game, enter your section, row and seats, and set your price. You see exactly what you’ll be paid before you publish. Connect your bank through Stripe once so we can pay you.
Start sellingWhen do I get paid as a seller?
Through Stripe. Connect your bank once. Your payout is released 3 business days after the game, unless the buyer reports a problem, which pauses it while we review. Stripe then sends it to your bank on its own payout schedule. See Stripe’s payout guide.
How do ticket transfers work?
Tickets move inside the ticketing company the seller bought them from, and checkout and My tickets tell you which one. Open the transfer email, tap Accept, and sign in to that company’s free account. The tickets then live in its app.
Can’t find the email? Search your inbox and spam folder for the company’s name.
What if an event is postponed or cancelled?
If it’s cancelled and not rescheduled, you get a full refund, fees and tax included. If it’s postponed, your tickets are good for the new date.
How do I contact support?
Open a support ticket and we’ll reply by email, within a few hours on game days. If it’s about an order, open that order in My tickets and tap Get help, so we have the details.
Where can I find my order history?
In My tickets. Every order you’ve placed is there with its status and delivery details, and your receipt is in your email. Sellers see their sales in the Seller dashboard.
Do I need an account to buy?
Yes, but you make it at checkout, when you’re ready to pay. Enter your details and confirm your phone with a text code. It takes about a minute. Your tickets and order updates live in My tickets.
When am I charged?
When you tap Pay, your card is authorized, not charged. We charge it once the seller confirms they still have your tickets, usually within the hour. If they can’t, the hold drops off your card and you pay nothing. Until then, your bank may show the hold as pending.
Can I sit with my friends?
Yes, when you buy two or more tickets in one order your seats are together, unless the listing says otherwise. A few listings are two rows, with one seat directly behind the other, and they say so before you buy. On many listings the exact seat numbers are assigned when the tickets are sent.
How do I find good deals?
Sort any game by price and pick how many tickets you need, so you only see seats that fit your group. Prices move as the game gets closer, so it can pay to check back.
Is this only for students?
No. CollegeSeats is for every college sports fan: alumni, families, locals, visiting fans and students.
I don’t see my team.
Request your school or tell us through Support. Fan demand decides where we go next.
What are the seller fees?
Individual sellers pay no fee on tickets and parking passes sold through January 31, 2027. After that, the standard rate is 5% of the sale price. Brokers and high-volume sellers pay that rate now, minimum $2.50 per ticket. If your account moves to the broker rate, we tell you 7 days before it applies to listings you already have up. Your exact payout is shown before you publish.
What happens when my tickets sell?
We email you right away. Confirm you still have the tickets within 12 hours, or sooner if the game is close. The buyer is charged when you confirm. Then transfer the tickets to the buyer’s email in your ticketing app and mark them sent. If you no longer have them, decline the sale so the buyer can move on. Sales you decline or leave unanswered count against your account.
Can I sell parking passes?
Yes. Parking passes list the same way as tickets, with the same buyer protection and payout timing. ParkMobile passes can’t be transferred to another account, so they can’t be sold here.
Where will my tickets show up?
In the app of the ticketing company the seller used: Ticketmaster, the school’s ticket portal, AXS or SeatGeek. Checkout and My tickets tell you which one, and we email you the moment they’re sent. PDF tickets download straight from My tickets.
What if my tickets don’t arrive or don’t work?
Open the order in My tickets and tap Get help as soon as you notice, and no later than the end of the game. If we confirm the problem, you get a full refund, fees and tax included, and the seller’s payment stays on hold while we sort it out.
I can’t find the transfer email.
Search your inbox and spam folder for the ticketing company’s name, not CollegeSeats. The transfer comes from them. Still nothing? Open the order in My tickets and tap Get help.
Are you part of the school or the box office?
No. CollegeSeats is an independent marketplace, not affiliated with any school, conference or ticketing company. Sellers set their own prices, which can be above or below face value.
Is there an app?
Not yet. Everything works in your phone’s browser.
How do I change my email or phone number?
In Account settings. We send a code to the new email or number to confirm it, and let your old one know about the change.
What if the game is delayed by weather?
Your tickets stay valid. Delays and restarts are handled by the school and the stadium; your tickets work whenever the game resumes.
My card was declined.
Your seats stay held until the checkout timer runs out, so you can try another card or a wallet like Apple Pay. If every card is declined, your bank may be blocking the charge; a quick call to them usually clears it.
